
Jenn is currently a freelance editor, writer, and all-around communications professional. In her most recent staff role, Jenn was a writer and project lead on the solar communications team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where she worked closely with scientists and engineers to find the best ways to communicate their work to the world. Jenn was the lead comms rep for NREL’s concentrating solar power (CSP) program and worked on projects in photovoltaics (PV) and basic energy science.
Prior to NREL, she was the managing editor at Simplemost Media, publishers of the E.W. Scripps Co.’s lifestyle brands, Simplemost and Don’t Waste Your Money. As a freelancer she has also contributed to Outdoor Retailer’s The Daily, The Colorado Sun, Colorado School of Mines and other publications. Before joining Simplemost, she was the travel and fitness editor at The Denver Post and covered a variety of interesting topics (religion, immigration, and politics for starters) in longform as well. In addition to writing for Boulder’s Colorado Daily and Daily Camera newspapers, where she worked as a staff reporter and editor, she has written for several outdoors-focused magazines, including Bicycling, Backpacker and Climbing, and worked as a fact-checker for Yoga Journal.
As a nonfiction book editor, she worked with author Michael Maciel on The Five Vows.
